Used Yamaha instruments

Yamaha came to band instruments through a trumpet. In 1963 it began improving the horns of Nippon Band Instruments, a maker it had helped manage since the 1930s, and in 1966 it launched its first wind instrument, the YTR-1. That summer it signed Renold Schilke, a former Chicago Symphony trumpeter and trumpet maker, as technical adviser, and he visited the factories twice a year until shortly before his death in 1982. Yamaha showed its winds at the Chicago trade show in 1967, the same year its first saxophones arrived. Handmade flutes, Custom clarinets and Custom trombones followed in the 1970s, along with the Toyooka factory, which opened in 1970 and became the center of Yamaha wind production. The Xeno trumpet came in 1990. Wind production started in Indonesia in 1998 and in China in 2000, and today Yamaha lists wind instrument plants in Pasuruan, Indonesia, and Hangzhou, China. That's why you'll see the same student model stamped with different countries. Here you'll find Yamaha's student, step-up and pro trumpets, trombones, saxophones, clarinets and flutes, from the YTR-2330 to the Xeno.
